"Lean on Me" In Progress

I'm working on coming up with better names for my paintings. My first inclination was name this "Mangos" or "Mangos on Pink" or something equally boring. Feel free to make suggestions.

I decided to make these mangos fill the space a little more than I had done with my original sketch but I'm not sure I like the one on the right being cropped like that. I often times crop the items I'm working on but I'm not sure this one looks right.

I played with some mangos on several different colors of fabric. Did a couple of quick sketches and cleaned the studio a little but didn't get around to actually painting. I hope to work on this tomorrow.

I'm starting to get the feel of oils again. I'm really happy with this little painting. I'm not super happy with the photo of it though. The blues show up brighter in the photo than they do in real life.

Carol Marine showed some process photos of plums on her blog. I painted the painting twice and I think it really helped me get back into the swing of oils.

Wow, oils are going to take some getting used to again. I haven't worked with them in over 10 years. They don't work anything like pastels - which is what I'm used to.

It has been super helpful looking at other artists work. Two of my favorite artist bloggers are Carol Marine and Michael Naples.
