I set up a still life the other day and sort of liked it. I worked on it for about an hour and a half. I came back to it today and worked on it for 2 more hours. Any sort of liking this still life feelings were gone. I didn't like it at all. I should have just scraped the paint off and started on something else. I wasn't going to bother posting this at all, but what the hell, it's all part of the process right?

I'm going to go scrape paint now.

Um, I hope you didn't scrape that yet.
Quite a few years back now, I destroyed some paintings that I thought, didn't quite cut it.
However, there are still photos of them in my little albums and one day my niece and her sis in law were looking at the book and loving, "this one," and "this one", etc.. and you guessed it. They were the ones I tore up. When I looked at the photos I understood how wretchedly, unfit I am to judge my own work. So, just put them away and when you take them back out, you'll see them differently!
Nice work!

Too late. I think you're right though. When I looked at that painting again I thought it didn't look so bad - especially with a little more work. Ah well. Thanks for looking!
