"Lemons in Blue Bowl"
SOLD

I keep trying to mix a purple I like and haven't quite been able to get it. I've resisted buying a pre-mixed tube because I keep thinking I should be able to mix it myself. Well, I broke down and bought a tube Of Winsor & Newton's Dioxazine Purple and I love it! It's exactly the color I was trying to mix myself.

Yeah, it's impossible to get a nice purple unless you've a good range of blues and reds. I recently painted 'skeletor' from He-Man for my brother and I had to use purple from a tube. I just couldn't get that violet.

Beautiful painting and I absolutely love your blog. I have about 12 'daily-painter' type people in my links and I check every day. I wish I could use oils like you can.

Beautiful painting. Love the red underpaint and how it peaks through so discretely. The hints of green in the shadow side of the lemons. Great color combination.....has the WOW factor!
